August trip to Matsushima and Ishinomaki

The coastline and surrounding ares of Ishinomaki are still quite barren. Many buildings and factories remain untouched and totally destroyed since the Tsunami, and apparently this was one of the least badly affected places in the Miyagi coastal area.

The strength of the Tsunami can be seen, by the remains of many of the buildings that it hit.

Thousands of destroyed automobiles are stacked up in car graveyards like this one, many of which can be seen throughout the area.
